Ambient lighting is one of the most effective and popular ways to customise a media wall fireplace. This lighting can be added in a range of different ways, to create a variety of elegant, impactful effects.
Ambient lighting is a type of indirect lighting, which is often added to media wall places. Also referred to as ‘mood’ and ‘scene’ lighting, this lighting type softly illuminates specific areas of the fireplace, without taking anything away from the fireplace itself.
This lighting is precisely designed to bring light to key areas, without making the lighting too harsh or bright. This makes it a great way to enhance the relaxing atmosphere of the room, or to enhance a desired visual effect.

One of the most common misunderstandings of how ambient lighting works in media wall fireplaces is that the ambient lighting comes from the fire itself (as the flame effects created by the fireplace). Actually, ambient lighting consists of a series of ambient light strips or fixtures, which are fitted within the media wall fireplace unit.
We can also install ambient lighting within the surround of your fireplace, within shelving units, the base, or behind your TV.
Depending on the effect you’d like to create, the lights can be fitted behind the media display, along the wall, or into the fireplace surround. Then, you can control the lighting (either using a remote control, or built-in settings), and adjust it however you like!
